Chocolate and Peanut Butter, need I say more?

Yes, I know.  This picture is NOT of a cookie.  But I felt the need to tell you WHY I was compelled to make said cookies and WHY I don’t have a picture of  completed project (the cookies not the kitchen!).

You see, I have been working for the last two weeks on painting my kitchen cabinets.  Do you see me back there?  Yep, that’s me.  Painting my cabinets.  I hate to paint.

I usually try to avoid it at all cost.  But cost is what has driven me to picking up the paint brush in the first place.  We got a quote for painting our kitchen cabinets and last time I checked, we didn’t have an extra $3,000!  So here I am.  Painting kitchen cabinets and eating cookies. Yes, I am desperate

So now when you get to the end of this here blog post and wonder why there are NO pictures of an actual baked cookie you will know why.  Because I (I mean “we”) ate them all before even one pic could be snapped. It was therapy, don’t judge…umkay?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies!

Step 1.  Cream together white sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter.

Step 2
Add eggs and oil mixing well.  BTW, baking is a great activity to do with your kids.  There is no need to buy a kids cookbook, they enjoy making normal stuff you make for the whole family.  My daughter has been cracking eggs since she was 4, it will benefit her later in life I am sure!

Step 3
In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.  Note: Most recipes say to sift the dry ingredients together.  Sometimes that is crucial to the outcome of the baked good, this is one of those times when I don’t think it makes a difference.

Step 4
In small batches add your dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.  Do not over beat dry ingredients.  When you are adding flour to any cookie dough you want to beat until just combined….do not over-mix.

Step 5
Now add vanilla, Hershey bar chunks and chocolate chips.  Stir until just blended.
Helpful Hint:  You will need 7oz of Hershey Milk Chocolate. You can sometimes find the big bars at Walmart or you can just grab 5 of the normal size Hershey bars.

Also, it’s good to note that f you live in Houston where it is hotter than hates, be sure NOT to leave said Hershey Bars in the car.  You will then have to freeze them for hours before using them! Just saying.

Step 6:  Drop by rounded teaspoon.  Bake at 350 for 12 min.

Lastly, pretend this is a batch of baked cookies rather than the dough. After they baked, the cookies looked just like this.  If you are lost as to why there is no picture of the baked cookies refer back to beginning of post!

Enjoy!  You will NOT have any extra to share, I can promise you that.
