A Few Of My Favorite Things!

Yikes!  Christmas is almost here and I feel like I have so little time to really soak in all the studpendous aspects of the season! (you are going to have to forgive me, but we have been reading Fancy Nancy all week!)

And of course, the true reason for the season is the "thing" that brings us most joy!  See the nativity above?  My parents gave that to us from their recent trip to Israel.  It's made from olive wood....I love it.  For so many reasons I love it.

I love it because it was a gift.  I love it because it reminds me of my own trip to Israel and my many adventures traveling the world.!
The other things I love at Christmas time are my ornaments.  Call me a dork, but I love looking at ornaments and remembering who gave it to me or the special time or place it represents.
See this one?  It was hard for me to get a good picture of it.  But it was given to me by my friend Kerrie.
That's Kerrie.  We have been friends since the third grade!  She still remembers the socks that I had on the day we met.??  Apparently back then I was great at accessorizing my feet!  But seriously, I love this ornament.... because it reminds me of her and it reminds me of how well she knows me.

Here's one from 2003...it was our 2nd Christmas together!  But here is what is really strange.  I don't havee any fond memories from our second year of marriage. None.  Zip.  Zilch. Zero.  Yet I still love the ornament?  Does that make me even more strange than you thought?

But for some reason, it reminds me that 2003 was at least good enough to buy a little accessorie to hang on our tree!
Here's what from our two trips to St. John.  Have you been there?  You need to go.  That's really all I can say.

This is one of the ornaments that my mom gave us this year.  Sydney is taking ballet and she is loving it!  (Thanks RaRa!)

Ummm...this just might be my favorite!  See the white piece of paper that looks like trash?  The one that almost looks like it could the remnants of a granola bar package?  Ummm....chances are it looks that way because it is that way!
Clearly "someone" was in here eating breakfast and "decorating".  I'm sure she just got so busy rearranging the ornaments that she just forgot to the throw out the trash! Work with me people!

So that's it for this morning!  Just a few of my favorite things that I will be delighting in this Christmas (besides of course the true Reason for the Season).

What are your favorite things this holiday season? Isn't it always fun to hear what other people love?
