Lilly Pulitzer Ispired Cookies

My friend Katie sent me this LINK as an inspiration for her daughter's 4th birthday party.  The theme was inspired from the cheerful designs of Lilly Pulitzer. 

I have always adored the bright colors of Lilly Pulitzer's designs so I was a wee bit nervous about designing a cookie worthy to even remotely resemble her style.

In the end I chose a ladybug to mimick Pulitzer's signature use of animals in her designs and of course the famous pink and green color scheme..  It turned out pretty cute...and it was the first time I used fondant to cover my cookies.  I used NO royal icing! 

If you have ever wanted to try fondant, Shelly over at Cookies and Cups has an easy to follow recipe for Marshmellow fondant.  I used her recipe and it was super easy...I even felt kinda professional-like using it.  Sharing recipes and sharing information is what I HEART most about blogging.
