Gosh, we might never know the answers to these oh so deep questions and more! Where do I find the time to devote to such thoughts!
But it got me thinking about the things that inspire us to decorate, to create a space in our home that we love! And for me, most often, I have found that certain pieces or fabrics will inspire a whole room.
This is a frame I found at a craft show. I paid way too much for it but when I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I have been waiting to be inspired to decorate my office and this piece is what did it! The combination of the colors and the whimsical over-sized dots....love it!
I saw a pillow just like this one in an upscale baby boutique. It became the inspiration piece for Sydney's bedroom even before she was born!
Any room that a designers uses a French Country look inspires me. It makes me happy like all warm and fuzzy inside! I don't know why it just does. This is my new book I picked up at a design store, I HEART it!
This is the front of a little trunk that I found at Michael's this past weekend. When I saw it, I just knew this was my inspiration piece for Sydney's new bathroom. Wait until I am done, you are going to want one just like it for your little girl!Lest you think my whole house is pink and black, it isn't. I promise, it is not. At least the downstairs is not, the upstairs...well maybe just a little!

I am so not sure what my decorations say about me but I do knowone thing I cant get ehough stuff on the walls and it seems so plain right now.. I love pictures of people but want more art errr thats why I come here and read how crafty you are. People say i am too but I just dont know... OH AND I BOUGHT SOMETHNG FOR YOU !!! I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU AT MOPS ON FRIDAY!!!
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by all sorts of things. I try to find beauty in the mundane. For instance, My mother-in-law recently gave me a partial set of 1970's avacado green cut crystal glasses. I LOVE them! No one else does which is why I had no trouble completeing the set after searching several garage sales. My Mom actually has a set in harvest gold in storage! I am sticking with avacado for now. Anyway, these glasses make me happy and everytime I show them to a friend, I recieve a laugh and stories about how they grew up with those lovely glasses too!
ReplyDeleteI also find inspiration in music. I LOVE jazz and plan to decorate my entire den in fun loud colors surrounding a piece of jazz art I bought in New Orleans. By the way...Barry Manilow and Dolly Parton make me equally as happy...I may not dedicate an entire space to them but I REFUSE to apologize for being a fan!
