The "Left-overs" of Your Life

We all know what a fabric Remnant is...but if you don't, boy do we have a lot of work to do! Although one look at my workroom and you would have it figured out pretty fast!

Rem*nant: n

1. Something leftover, remaining
2. A piece of fabric
3. A surviving trace
4. A survivng group of people

Do you ever feel like there is nothing left of you other than remnants of a former life, a former YOU?

Maybe it is just the day-to-day challenges of tending to the kids, cleaning the house, chasing the dog or dealing with your boss that are beating you down. Or maybe you have experienced or are currently going through a tradgedy such as a loss of a loved one, an addiction, a bout with depression, a job loss or even betrayed relationships that have you looking in the mirror only to stare back at a perfect stranger.

Whatever it is, if you are anything like me, there have been times that I wondered if I was going to make it through. And if I did make it through, I wondered what would be left of me, what would be left of my life?

For me personally, I dealt with a year-long battle of post-partum depression that threatened my life. Even after I was physically healed, I wondered how I would ever really live again. My innocence was gone, I had been picked away at by the evilness of this world just as a vulture picks away at his prey. (to read more of my story, click Here)

It has taken a year and a half (and I am surly not done) but I have realized that God needs nothing more than the remnants of our battle weary soul to make something more beautiful than we were before. And not only does he make something beautiful but he also gives it purpose and meaning.

Whether you are beaten up by the seemingly ordinary trials of day-to-day life or a serious disaster, know this; God can and will put the pieces back together. He will weave together a new you, a better you.  He needs but only to be given the remnants!

At that time the Lord who commands armies will become a beautful crown and a splendid diadem for the remnants of his people" Isaiah 28:5

At that time, God- of- the- Angel -Armies will be the beautiful crown on the head of what's left of his people: energy and insights of justice to those who guide and decide, strength and prowess to those who guard and protect. Isaiah 28: 5-6

  2. Yes, I made one for each of my boys. I love them. Right now they are hanging on their windows, but I'm thinking about moving them around. I don't know if this will work, but here's the link to the pictures:
