Now that I am a little
Our adoption adventure has not been without it’s snares and detours, but then again, what adoption story is without them? Even the greatest adoption story…the one in which the King of Glory himself adopted us, was not without pain and suffering.
So, today, we are thanking God for all of our unanswered prayers, even the ones that brought a little pain. Today, we are thanking God for the courage he gave us to survive the last two years while we searched for the right adoption agency and waited for the right birth mom.
One month ago, we were officially matched with a birth mom. It is awkward for me to use the word “birth mom” instead of her name, as it sounds so impersonal. But I wanna check with her first before I post her face or any personal information. So for now we will just refer to her as PEM (short for the Pregnant Expectant Mom) which I guess makes me the NPEM (not-pregnant expectant mom!).
The picture above was taken at Olive Garden on the day we met over lunch. PEM and Syd hit it off like sisters and we are thrilled beyond belief. The baby is due in December and I can’t wait to give you all the details!
Before I go…can we get back to the original inspiration for this post? Yes… I am talking about Garth. Me, Garth an old CD player on repeat. Let’s reminisce shall we? (just humor me)
(to be sung with a country twang and a bit of a stagger)
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
Over and out!
The non-preggers!
So excited for ya'll! What a blessing I know you will be to this baby and to PEM! I love that photo of Syd - she's already got the proud big sis twinkle in her eye.
