Mission Completed

If this were a picture of me, this is how proud of myself I would be!

Why? I actually finished a project! This is a rare accomplishment for me, one that should be marked by a special event, placed on the calendar and celebrated! I am the queen of starting lots of projects and finishing very few.

I recently took up the hobby of treasure hunting (aka. garage saling) (is that a word?). And I LOVE it! I love the hunt. I love the challenge. I love everything about finding these hidden treasures, except for the fact that after I bring said treasures home, they still need to be re-habed in some way. Not such a convenient reality for my procrastinating self.

See the red bar stools? I bought them like 4 months ago at a garage sale for $7 each. They were a great find.

But here is where the challenge really begins for me. I can find the deal, I can bring it home, I can come up with all of these "plans" for my new treasures. What color I could paint them, unique ways to use them, but then...I get bored and I move on to the next project!

Until now! I finally got out my cheap can of black paint and gave them a couple of thick coats. And you know what? It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. I really should try finishing projects more often. It was really actually quite easy. And I LOVE how they turned out. I love the straw/weave material the seats are made from. What is that called? And the detail on the back's of the chairs..so cute. It sooooo does not look like I paid just $7 each for the chairs.

In fact, don't they remind you of the ones in Ballard Designs? (you know how I love thee, let me count the ways!):

Bar Stools from Ballard Designs $300/each

So here's hoping my completion of the bar stools will lead to many more completed projects.

PS - I was walking the dogs this morning (at 5am!) and look what I found in the trash at a neighbors house:

Ummm...so many ideas of what I can do with them. Now, if I can just get the nerve to finish....
