Packed and Ready….Sort Of

IMG_7729

We are almost packed and ready to head on up to the big “D”

Packing seems to be the easy part…getting ready for the adventure of the next couple of days…that is a whole other matter.

I found a short reprieve from the chaos by packing the baby bag.

Packing a baby bag is straight forward.  You have a list of items you need, a list of items you want and then you put said items in the bag. There is no wondering, waiting, stressing or even praying when it comes to packing the bag. You just do it.For my control freak, event planning soul, packing a bag in the midst of the unknown was weirdly calming.

Now I am off to pack the rest of the family, go to the bank to deposit the money raised from the Biker Bar Fundraiser ($2,200 woo hoo!) and head out on the road.

We are making huge strides in fundraising to bring Maggie home. One year ago, we started with $0.00.  Through saving, sacrifice, selling cookies, selling furniture, selling guitars, garage sales and many donations from friends and co-workers we are almost there!

12K more is needed to bring our baby girl home.  We can’t wait to see what happens in the next 24 hours!

Will post more later.

PS-
(a list of my most favorite things packed so far)
numbers
1. a pale pink swaddle blanket we used with Sydney.  One of the very few things we have from when she was a baby.
2. a newborn size zebra outfit that is warm and cozy.  A girl can never start too early with her obsession for zebra!
3. cute burp cloth given to me by a friend
4. fabulous flower headband for those first pictures (flower might actually be bigger than her head!)
5. handmade blanket from a friend
6. brand new diaper bag from a friend (the kind that doesn’t really look like a diaper bag…that is how I roll!)
