The Beauty of Les Miserable

If you haven’t seen the movie (even if you have seen the stage production) you must run, do not walk, to the nearest theater and treat yourself.

I don’t know where to begin to explain the feast for the eyes and heart that awaits every viewer. 
It is the story of the gospel.  It is the story of Jesus.  It is the story God is screaming from the heavens if only we would stop to take it all in.

I do have one question though….where was I when God handed out the gifts of singing and acting?  So much talent in this one cast!

And a big thank you to the gal at the ticket counter who asked to see my student ID.  God bless her! If there hadn’t been a huge window of glass between us, I would have hugged her! 

I leave you with this perfectly simple summary of the movie:

In spite of the longstanding Javert-Valjean struggle in the book, and even the Javert-Valjean struggle we find in our own hearts, ultimately Scripture reminds us that a mercy-giving life of a Valjean will triumph over the hard legalistic life of a Javert (James 2:13).
