When we wait for healing to take place, it's not always easy to rejoice in the hear and now. Sometimes we must will our souls to choose joy by nothing less then pure obedience.
Life here can be a barren wasteland, requiring a daily fight for the joy that is promised us in Him.
It's in those moments that we remind God of his words to save us. And in doing so we realize (once again) that the only thing in this world that delivers and comforts and satisfies IS his word.
We remind him of his promises to rescue and despite days, months or even years of waiting for deliverance to come we keep believing and we keep hoping.
Turn your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me. Psalm 31:2
And finally, like a mighty rushing river, healing is washed over us and we R-E-J-O-I-C-E. This time we don't have to work for it or will it to be, we simply fall into it. Sometimes joy comes easily and today is one of those days.
I have a dear friend who has been healed TODAY. Just like the bleeding woman touched Jesus' robe and found healing, so to has my friend.
Even though the physical remedy was quick, the same surgery I had, the journey itself was long and hard. It was a year of pure hell and anguish. A year of deep anxiety, despair and pain. A year I know all too well.
But today, one more woman was healed and one more woman's life was restored. And for reasons I do not understand he has allowed me to bear witness to the healing and take part in the rejoicing that comes after the wound is well.
Within hours of having a full hysterectomy my friend knew she had been healed. I heard it in her voice and she felt it in her body.
Today my friend was healed. And today I am rejoicing with her as if it was me he healed all over again!
I hope you can meet her someday. Maybe she will guest post here on this blog, she could tell you her God story and what He did in her life. There are more women out there that have suffered or are suffering from that "hellish" sickness and you need to know that there is hope.
Sharee:)
