Life Lessons from Jack Bauer

I have TWO words for you....

My man and I are 24 fanatics. You too?  We love it so much that we would wait for each season to come out on DVD just so we can watch it uninterrupted.  What?  You don't like to watch 4 episodes in one sitting?  You crazy girl!

We just finished the last season.  (quiet sobs)  Let's not talk about how the show is over, I would rather live in denial...umkay?

So here is my deep thought for today. 

Jack (Jack Bauer to those of you not on a first name basis) always wins in the end.  It doesn't matter what obstacle stands in his way... bombs, guns, betrayal, torture...Jack always completes his mission.

How?  How does he do that?

 My man said it best with... "It is amazing what ONE man can do when he has NOTHING to lose." (cut to the scene right after Jack barreled his way through 4 armed guard after being shot right below the heart)

And now I sit here wondering...do I live like I have NOTHING to lose?

If I truly lived like I had NOTHING to lose than what would my days look like? What would Christ choose to accomplish through me? What miracles would I have the privilege of witnessing? What super-hero power would I exhibit?

In reality, I already know that I have NOTHING to lose. I already know that I live and move and have my being in Christ alone.  And I already know that nothing in this world can take from me the one who conquered death. 

So, I guess Jack and I have more in commong than I ever thought.  Maybe even though the series is over (gulping sorrow), maybe a bit of Jack will forever live inside of me. 

ONE woman...living with NOTHING to lose. Can you imagine the adventures that await?
