One More Reason I Should Write Down My Goals

I thought the results from this study were very interesting.  Thought I would share!

It came from Tommy Newberry’s “Success is Not an Accident”. Enjoy!

Harvard University Class of 1979:

  • 87% of class had no goal
  • 13% had goals and plans (in their head)
  • 3% had written goals with a plan of action

In 1989 the class was resurveyed:
  • 13% who had goals in their head were earning twice as much as the other 84%,
  • 3% who had written their goals were earning 10 times as much as the other 97% combined.
By writing goals on paper you make them concrete, tangible and physically real. People who write down their goals are 10 times more likely to achieve them, than those who have them in their head. Without goals you’ll likely compare and measure yourself against others, rather than against your own potential.

Things that make you go ummm........
