What I've Learned

 Here is what I learned in 2009.  In order to discover my purpose, my identify and the adventure God has waiting for me, I MUST:

•  I MUST be dedicated to knowing God and understanding the EPIC story he has been telling since time began. If I don't know HIM, if I don't understand the story he has already began telling, I will never know or embrace the role he has for me

• Be Myself.  Sounds so trite I know, but really I must accept the truth.  I must accept that God delights in who I am, not in who I could be or in who I might be, but in who I am right now!  I must accept that he loves me and that he delights in me. If I am not myself, I will never be able to fill the role he has for me to play.  Hence, I will forever be searching and coming up empty in this so called life!

• Say Yes.  YES each an every day.  To say YES to the small things, the big things, the seemingly mundane things and the crazy "I said I would never do that" things! I must stop waiting for the "big day" to arrive when all will make sense and I will see my name written in flashing lights!  Anyone know what I am saying?  The only way to be a part of God's amazing adventure is to say YES each day.

Aren't I just feeling oh so organized and efficient today.  Not to toot my own horn or anything....but I think I did good today.  I re-committed to writing this blog and why I write this blog AND I even wrote down what I learned!  Did it amaze you?  Are you in a state of shock?  Has your jaw dropped on the floor?  Are you waiting in anticipation of my next post?

Nah...I didn't think so.  And don't be!  It will probably be about something random like new recipes I am trying or a new project I want to try for my house that I will never get to....but every once in a while, I get a revelation that makes it all worth it....for me that is!
