Friends to Carry Your Burdens

I asked a few friends to write any thoughts they had about my "terrible" year. I hope that in these messages there might be something that would encourage you. These notes are from the friends that stand out in my mind as people that never left my side...even when I wanted to give up. Each in their own way was brave enough to climb down in the deep dark pit despair with me and help me find a sliver of light to hope on. My burdens became their burdens and I am forever grateful.

(Now, I don't want you to think that I am ignoring everyone else in my life that supported me! There were lots of other friends that came in and out of my life that year. They watched Syd for us, made us meals, emailed and wrote letters of encouragement and lots more stuff that I can't even remember. I just had to narrow it down!)

Whether you are going through a depression or you are going through any of the other "troubles" this world promises to bring, we all need people to walk with us and to carry us when we can't walk anymore. These are my friends that carried me.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can pick him up. Ephesians 4: 9-10
